Pest and Bacteria Prevention in Birds

Powdered sulfur is an excellent way to prevent external pests such as mites and red mites.

Regularly used in horticulture as a fungicide and miticide, this product is often overlooked by poultry and coop owners.

Usage and Recommendations

Sprinkle a small amount in the coop, on the wood shavings, and in the nesting boxes.

You can also mix it with sand, ash, and diatomaceous earth to provide them with a natural “bath.”

Risks and warnings

Although it is a natural mineral, powdered sulfur can irritate the eyes and respiratory tract.

Avoid contact with the respiratory tract and eyes during application, especially if you wear contact lenses.
