Diatomaceous earth (food grade)

Diatomaceous earth is an excellent way to prevent external and internal parasites, such as feather lice and intestinal worms. It also reduces the number of insects, such as flies, in the henhouse. Rich in minerals and trace elements, diatomaceous earth is a good complement to feed.

Use: As a preventive measure, sprinkle a small quantity in the henhouse, wood shavings and nesting boxes. You can also mix it with sand, ash and sulfur powder to give them a natural “bath”. Direct application to hens and under feathers can also be effective if external parasites are already present. Be careful, however, not to apply near the respiratory tract or eyes. You can also add a small amount of diatomaceous earth (food grade) to the daily feed.
